About Charlotte, NC

Nicknamed “The Queen City,” Charlotte is the most populated city in the state of North Carolina, and it is considered the fastest growing metropolitan city in the United States. Located in the Southeast region of the country, it has four distinct seasons including hot and humid summers and cold snowy winters. Charlotte’s rate of growth can be highly attributed to the fact that it is the second largest banking hub, and as a result, it attracts a large number of young professionals seeking a career.

While other cities have a long history, Charlotte is actually a relatively new and progressive type of city. This means that the buildings and infrastructures are extremely up to date and modern, but the street names are the same as they always were. Their metropolitan area, also known as midtown, has an impressive skyline that boasts its modern architecture and urban sheen. It was so impressive, that it was chosen as the location for the backdrop of the Capital in the famous Hunger Games movie series. In addition to the beautiful skyline, Midtown is home to several of Charlotte’s large parks.

Emblazoned across many of Charlotte’s large skyscrapers are the names of banks due to the huge banking culture present in the city. Charlotte is home to the coast to coast bank Bank of America, and the financial influx is a huge factor of what is driving the city’s growth. With many hard working CEO’s and analysts, they strive to become the top spot in the banking leaderboards. This large banking presence naturally attracts many young professionals to move into this city. This is also an opportunity for students studying finance in universities in North Carolina to learn about future career paths. These young professionals help drive the city’s rapid growth, and it has lead to the development and success of various aspects ranging from sports teams to museums.
