Cameron Wood

Cameron Wood may have quiet streets surrounding its charming homes, but it is just ten miles away from the city’s most popular shopping centers, parks, and restaurants and just minutes from the Interstate 485 – making it one of the best places to live in Charlotte.

The Cameron Wood Neighborhood

Cameron Wood encompasses 386 acres of what was once a hunting preserve and has a tranquil one-acre pond sitting in its center, which used to be a horse and cattle watering hole. Today, there are just over 800 completed homes within the five villages that make up the community.

Built between 1986-2000, Cameron Wood homes showcase timeless architecture that was popular during the later 20th century, some with classic two-story designs and others with Cape cod style. Typical home features include large decks and peaceful backyards with some of the city’s top-rated schools within walking distance. The family-friendly neighborhood also has an active homeowners’ association, inspiring residents to organize neighborhood improvement projects and fun social activities throughout the year.

Restaurants

It’s safe to say that Charlotte is a foodie city with its diverse mix of new, innovative restaurants and tried-and-true dining destinations.

A charming purple Victorian home in the Queen City’s historic Fourth Ward houses one of the city’s most beloved restaurants and Charlotte’s only AAA Four-Diamond restaurant. McNinch House Restaurant is an intimate fine dining restaurant that offers seven-course meals consisting of French, Southern, and European-style menus. Dishes include Rosemary & Dijon Crusted Rack of New Zealand Lamb and Pecan Crusted Salmon.

The Asbury at The Dunhill Hotel puts a refined yet creative spin on traditional Southern dishes. Its menu is a tribute to Charlotte’s southern roots and warm hospitality. Asbury sources locally from small farms, celebrating the freshest ingredients with dishes like banana pudding pancakes, chicken biscuit, and cast iron pub steak.
