About Dilworth

Dilworth is a neighborhood in Charlotte, NC, and was originally Charlotte’s first streetcar suburb. The population is just under 10,000 and offers its residents an urban environment. Dilworth was established 250 acres southwest of the original city limits in the 1890’s by Edward Dilworth Latta. A majority of the neighborhood is featured on the National Register of Historic Places as the Dilworth Historic District.  The neighborhood of Dilworth starts east of South Boulevard until the edge of Freedom Park and continues north to Morehead Street and south to Ideal Way. Dilworth is approximately 10 minutes from Madison Park and Selwyn Park.
