A major park that is popular in Charlotte is the U.S. National Whitewater Center due to the ability to go whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing. It is a huge recreational facility that is about 700 acres located in the northwest corner of Charlotte. Due to the hot and humid summers, this is a very popular site for families to enjoy a summer day in the refreshing waters of the park. It is very well maintained, and the river channels were actually designed by a three-time Olympian.

Another popular park in Charlotte is Renaissance Park. It is an outdoor space with bike trails and multiple sports facilities that can be used by anyone. With a swamp-like scenery, lots of greenery, and shrub-like forests, it provides a nice scene for anyone looking to go on a hike.
