Botox for forehead

Testimonial

“I never had Botox before and was very nervous after reading horror stories. I did an extensive research on finding a doctor to do Botox. I decided to go with Dr. Kulbersh. He did such a fabulous job. He had a good bedside manner, listened to my concerns and what I wanted (a natural look) and was precise and careful during injections. I felt I looked natural, refreshed and younger after.”

Wrinkles that appear on the upper face are typically known as dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic lines are those that form when you make certain facial expressions. In the beginning, the line only appears when the expression is made. However, over time the wrinkle can become permanently etched into the face, adding to the aged appearance.

Botox Cosmetic and other neuromodulators like Dysport target the muscle causing the wrinkles, which prevents the overlying movement and allows the line to become smoother and less visible. The treatment doesn’t require any surgery or incisions to the skin.

Botox® is a neuromodulator that works on forehead wrinkles by relaxing the facial muscles that form them. By blocking the interaction between the nerve and muscle, Botox stops the nerve from triggering the muscle to contract. As the muscle activity is reduced, the lines are smoothed away. Botox has been used as a medical treatment since the 1970s, and Botox Cosmetic was introduced in the 1990s as a nonsurgical anti-aging treatment.

Botox Cosmetic for forehead wrinkles includes treatment of the horizontal lines that often appear across the forehead, as well as the vertical creases that tend to form between the eyebrows. These wrinkles are also known as glabellar lines, frown lines, or the 11s. Botox Cosmetic smooths away both types of lines, as well as creases that form in the outer corners of the eyes, known as crow’s feet.

Patients who start Botox Cosmetic at a younger age may be able to postpone the formation of forehead wrinkles. One study that looked at identical twins found that the twin who had regular Botox treatments over a 13-year period actually looked younger than the twin who did not undergo treatments.

Frequently asked questions

If you have forehead wrinkles you would like to address, Botox Cosmetic might be the right option for you. This procedure works for both men and women and can also treat lines around the lips and neck.

Botox treatments for forehead wrinkles are very well-tolerated at our Charlotte office. We use the smallest needle possible for these injections, with multiple fresh needles during the procedure to limit discomfort. The injections themselves take 2-7 minutes to complete.

There is no downtime after a Botox Cosmetic treatment, so you can plan to return to your regular activities right away. Some patients experience mild bruising or swelling around the injection sites, which typically only lasts up to an hour. Results will become evident within a week or two.

Botox results are temporary. The average patient will need a repeat treatment 3-4 months after their first procedure. Some patients get lucky and maintain longer-lasting results. Some patients also find that after having multiple Botox treatments, they can begin to go a bit longer between sessions. However, that is not true for all patients.
