The top aesthetic destination of the south, Carolina Facial Plastics is led by double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Jonathan Kulbersh. With his team of cosmetic experts, a fully accredited surgery center, and a private recovery retreat all located in the heart of SouthPark, Carolina Facial Plastics is known for unparalleled and natural-looking results exclusively for the face.

Remarkable Results, Exceptional Care

Jonathan Kulbersh, MD, founded Carolina Facial Plastics to combine the charm of Southern hospitality with the elegance of a top-notch Beverly Hills facial plastic surgery center. As the son of a South Carolina obstetrician and the protege of multiple world-renowned facial plastic surgeons — such as Dr. Paul Nassif of TV’s “Botched” — Dr. Kulbersh learned to establish long-lasting relationships with his patients by exceeding their expectations. It is this reputation that led to Dr. Kulbersh being chosen as a Top 100 Realself Doctor 4 years in a row and included in the RealSelf Hall of Fame. Dr. Kulbersh was also honored to win the 2019 and 2020 BOB award for Charlotte’s Best Facial Plastic Surgeon and Top Doctor in Plastic Surgery by Charlotte Magazine in 2019 and 2020.

Best of the Best Charlotte 2020

Dr. Kulbersh’s journey toward becoming the most sought-after double-board certified facial plastic surgeon in Charlotte, North Carolina, began with his interest in his father’s practice. He was amazed by the joy his father experienced in delivering generations of local babies, watching them grow up, and then delivering their own children. Early on, Dr. Kulbersh became fascinated by surgery and knew he wanted to make that his profession.

He obtained his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he completed a five-year residency program in head and neck surgery. The complexity and challenge of working with head and neck anatomy led him to first consider becoming an ENT specialist. However, once he encountered facial aesthetic surgery, he knew he’d found his niche. Facial plastic surgery calls for optimal surgical skills as well as artistry and knowledge of facial aesthetics, harmony, and proportion. Dr. Kulbersh’s own skills and creativity perfectly matched the requirements.

With more than 15 years of experience, as well as over 2000 cosmetic surgeries and 12,000 injectable treatments under his belt, Dr. Kulbersh brings the expertise and experience that provides superior results to his patients. Popular procedures include facelifts (including the Awake Mini Lift), rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, chin and lip augmentation, injectable procedures, and an assortment of aesthetician treatments.

His high-end surgery center and luxurious recovery retreat offer his patients a comfortable, intimate place to meet all their aesthetic goals.

Cosmetic Surgery Training

Dr. Kulbersh believes that — no matter what your profession — where you train last matters the most, because it teaches the skills to excel at your craft for the rest of your life. Seeking to hone his skills by studying with the best in the field, Dr. Kulbersh sought out and completed a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship in Beverly Hills, California, which was sponsored by the University of Southern California. He followed that with a fellowship specializing in oculoplastic surgery under the direction of Dr. Guy Massry.

The fierce competition in Beverly Hills showed Dr. Kulbersh that it was imperative he offer his patients the highest level of care and the most beautiful and natural-looking outcomes possible, no matter where he practiced. Dedicated to continuing to develop his skills, Dr. Kulbersh added another year to refine his craft by studying injectable therapies with Dr. Rebecca Fitzgerald, rhinoplasty with Dr. Raj Kanodia, hair loss treatments with Dr. Craig Ziering, and facelift technique with Dr. Jonathan Hoenig.

By learning from the best in Beverly Hills, he was able to develop his own overarching strategy and approach to cosmetic and functional facial plastic surgery. He brought that high level of dedication, skill, and knowledge back to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he founded Carolina Facial Plastics in 2010. Dr. Kulbersh is also a member of the following medical societies: American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Career Goals

Dr. Kulbersh derives great satisfaction from helping his patients meet and exceed their aesthetic goals. He knows that the improvements he makes in creating more balanced and harmonious features extends far beyond appearance. Facial plastic surgery changes lives by boosting confidence, increasing sociability, and allowing women, men, and teens to feel that the reflection in their mirror matches the unique and valuable person they know themselves to be inside.

Dr. Kulbersh considers his patients his friends and part of his extended family. Many of his plastic surgery patients continue to visit Carolina Facial Plastics regularly for skin-care treatments and other therapies that keep them looking and feeling healthy and energized. He also offers a variety of nonsurgical treatments, including microneedling to improve skin quality and nonsurgical rhinoplasty using dermal fillers.

The new office also contains Fairview Surgical Suites and Fairview Recovery Retreat. Fairview Surgical Suites is a dedicated plastic surgery center that features a private, AAAASF in office operating suite dedicated solely to your procedure for optimal care and safety. Fairview Recovery Retreat offers private-entrance rooms with the feel of a 5-star hotel and spa for your discretion and stress-free recovery.

Personal Life

In addition to providing the best possible facial plastic surgery care to patients from all over the world, Dr. Kulbersh believes in being a dedicated and active member of the Charlotte community. He’s on the board of the Jewish Community Center, board of the Jewish Federation of Charlotte, and coaches his oldest son’s soccer team, which is sponsored by his practice. He also offers consultations and waives his surgeon’s fee for victims of abuse or violence.

Dr. Kulbersh and his wife have three young sons. One of his favorite moments of the day is getting his boys ready for bed and reading to them from classics such as “Good Night Moon.” Dr. Kulbersh also loves rowing, watching University of Georgia football games with his family, and giving back to his community.
