Men Want Cosmetic Surgery, Too!

Cosmetic procedures aren’t just for women anymore. The number of men undergoing invasive and non-invasive forms of cosmetic enhancement in the U.S. has grown over the years. Men now make up 13 percent of all procedures that occur in the country. Blame it on America’s youth-oriented culture or TV shows that have make it OK for men to care about their looks; any way you look at it, men are willing to pay to look younger.

Somewhat Startling Statistics

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, ASAPS, the amount of men undergoing cosmetic procedures has jumped 90 percent since 1997. Women still take the lion’s share when it comes to enhancement, but the men are staking 13 percent, with room to grow.

Favorite Procedures

Though women likely knew it all along, men really do care about their looks and want to turn back time, too. The most popular surgeries for men revolve around the face, chest and abdomen. Nose jobs, or rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, liposuction and breast reduction – for gynecomastia or enlarged breasts – are among the top choices for males.

What About Cary Grant and George Clooney?

The quintessential steel-haired leading man may look great on the big screen and still command the spotlight, but in today’s job market most guys would rather look younger to maintain an edge. The economy has made it difficult to find and keep jobs, so competition is fierce. Getting a little tweak here and there helps boost men’s confidence in themselves when facing those they want to impress. In Charlotte, opting for a nose job to even out your features can make you more attractive. We all love symmetrical features, so a nose job can go a long way towards making you more marketable in Charlotte’s busy work sector.

Why Rhinoplasty?

Your nose is typically the most prominent feature on your face, and often the focal point or distinguishing feature that people remember. (Who doesn’t remember the nose on the Wicked Witch of the West? You almost forget she had green skin or wore a pointy hat; her nose was that noticeable.) A nose job can smooth bumps that formed after someone elbowed your nose in a basketball game in Charlotte, or it can help repair a deviated septum that makes breathing difficult. In either case, you can have a more streamlined “snout” that helps to soften your features. Whether you’re competing for a job in Charlotte or just want to improve your appearance, a nose job can help.
